How to Paint a Deck with NOVEX TIMBERSTYLE Deck & Timber Paint

1. Prep the Surface

Start by removing any peeling paint, dirt, mould, or moss using Timber Clean & Prep. Skip the high-pressure water blaster – it can harm the timber fibres.

If your deck is aged or absorbent, apply a light primer coat using TIMBERSTYLE thinned with 10% water before full coats.

2. Application Tips

  • Give the paint a good stir before starting.

  • Use a roller, brush, or airless spray – whatever suits you.

  • For best results, apply two full coats.

  • Blend cans together for colour consistency.

  • Paint on a dry day, ideally between 5°C and 25°C, and avoid any rain for at least 4 hours after painting.

3. Drying Time

  • Touch dry: 30 minutes

  • Ready to recoat: 2 hours

  • Let it dry overnight before walking on it.

4. Cleaning & Disposal

Clean tools with cold water. Dispose of any unused paint according to your local guidelines – better for you, and better for the planet.
